Blinkbonny is situated on the A964 three miles west of Kirkwall, Orkney's main town. It is about twelve miles from Stromness via the A964. The Foveran Restaurant is a short walk away, while Scapa Beach is about one mile to the east. The houses overlook the north east corner of Scapa Flow and coming from Kirkwall are up a short road to the right, just after the sign to "Bloomfield" and just before the turn off to the "Foveran". Coming from Stromness it is the first left after the same turn off. There is a wide area at the bottom of the road.

From Hatston Ferry Terminal, Kirkwall Turn left towards Kirkwall, drive past an industrial estate until you come to a large roundabout. Take the second exit past the Highland Filling Station. Continue till you reach a small roundabout and turn right. Turn right again at the sign for "Orphir A964". (There is a church on your left). Follow this road for approx 2.5 miles. Blinkbonny is up the first road on the right after the signpost "Bloomfield".

From Stromness If arriving from Stromness on the A965 turn right at the roundabout on the edge of town and then right again at the bottom of the hill facing Stenness Loch. Follow the road ahead, bearing right after the bridge where the sign says "Orphir A964". Follow the road for about 10 miles, before passing Marness Garage (Renault). Blinkbonny is up the first left after the sign for Foveran.
